The beautiful Genova Palasport Fiera in Genoa, Italy
This weekend will mark the thirty-first running of the of the Genova Supercross in beautiful Genoa, Italy. Over the years, many greats have raced within the small arena, and this weekend, two more will suit up and do battle with the European locals for the last round of the European Supercross Championship in Genoa.
Chad Reed (two-time AMA SX Champion) and Justin Barcia (2010 East/Lites AMA SX Champ) are both making the trek over the pond and both bringing their factory Hondas with them. Reedy and “Bam Bam” will go to battle with each other and a long list of European Supercross hopefuls that are looking to see if they can mix it up with the two AMA Supercross Champions.
In the house–with the best chance of mixing up Chad and Justin–are guys like the newly crowned European Supercross Champion Cedric Soubeyras and his fellow Frenchman Greg Aranda. Just last month in Bercy, Greg Aranda was the fastest man on the track all weekend against some tough U.S. competition which included Justin Barcia. If Greg can put it together for a whole main event, he and his Bud Racing Kawasaki could be near the front.
