Tonight at Cowboy Stadium, during round seven of the 2012 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, Two Two Motosports’ Chad Reed went down hard and it did not look good. The number twenty-two was all over Monster Energy/Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto for the lead when he made a mistake in the whoops. Chad was able to get to his feet, but seemed to have trouble with his knee and could not walk. In the end, Reed took a ride in the Asterisk medic mule and finished the Dallas Supercross with a very disappointing DNF. There is no word on the prognosis, but Chad’s wife, Ellie Reed, tweeted this from her @mrstwotwo account on Twitter:
“He will be seeing his Dr in CA tomorrow for further testing/check up. We’ll know more then. Thanks for the support & prayers for 22!”
We are hoping to get word tomorrow that there is no real structural damage to Reed’s knee or leg and that we will see him back on the track as soon as possible.
Update 7pm 2/19/12: There is no new information on Reed’s injury, but the number twenty sent out a few Tweets from his personal Twitter account @crtwotwo

he was bad fast. he would have passed villopoto.
Dumb comment if that were so why did he crash instead of passing RV, maybe he was riding over his head.
Or maybe he just made a mistake? RV was running slower lap times as the race went on. He would’ve passed and destroyed RV.

My name is Jeff Cottrell and on Sunday, August 2, 2009, I went racing with my 7 year old son (Aaron) at the local Motocross track in Dayton, Ohio. I had a violent crash off a seventy foot jump at 10:30 in the morning. I was rushed to the hospital not breathing and turning blue.
I reportedly had 7 broken ribs and a collapsed punctured lung and was admitted as a multi-trauma victim. The next day on Monday, I started crying out to God to help me! I thought I was dying, and he told me to start praying for myself at 10:30, and I did. God healed my broken ribs and my lung instantly! I took a deep breath for the first time. WOW! I started Praising God for my Healing! My FAITH went to an all NEW LEVEL and I SHOUTED to everyone that walked in my room, I’M HEALED IN JESUS NAME!
I prayed for everyone that came in my room, doctors, nurses and fellow patients, everyone. I walked out of the hospital at 10:30 on Thursday. Our company had helped sponsor a house built in local Beavercreek, Ohio for the popular TV program Extreme Home Makeover. Because of God’s healing powers I was there to help Ty move that bus!
On that same Thursday night, I went and watched my 7 year old play soccer. When I got home that night from his game my pain was off the charts (10 +). God told me not to take any pain medicine, to “TRUST” him and let him heal me all the way. I called a Pastor friend Arvin and asked him to pray with me, because I was in terrible pain. After Prayer, I went to sleep.
On Friday morning, God woke me up at 2 am and had me turn on the (TBN) Trinity Broadcast Network. I also never turned it off, the whole time in the hospital as I watched and started praying with them on TV, it felt like a thousand degrees rolling up off my chest and the PAIN was leaving my body.
Then he told me to get up and ride my Gold Wing motorcycle, to my dear friend Pastor Leo’s church in Lima, Ohio about an hour and a half away, which I did. When I walked in, Pastor Leo said Brother Jeff how are you doing? I started SHOUTING I’m HEALED IN JESUS’ NAME and started testifying to his church. At the end of his service, a man came up to me and said what was going on between 2 and 5, I told him I was coming off my pain medicine. He started telling me about having the worst pain in his chest to his head that he had ever felt in his life. He thought he was dying from a massive heart attack and he cried out to God in prayer, was he dying?
God said, ”NO, I need you to Pray for a man.” This man had birthed my pain for three hours! After telling me that, he gave me his business card… the name on his card was J & C Carpentry. WOW! JESUS CHRIST was a Carpenter, GOD always gives you confirmation to his word. Amen!
He rose me in three days, out of the hospital and told me to go tell the WORLD what he had just done for me!!! “Praise GOD with NO Pain Medicine and NOT even a Bruise on my Body”

reed is a fast fast rider and he is my favorite from the time i sat down on the floor and watched him. if there is one thing i’ve noticed, its that he rides the fastest when he’s really trying and when he dosent go full out reed, he finishes like 14th. Alan, we deleted that comment as soon as we saw it. It has been a crazy day and if we would of saw that comment it would of been deleted a lot sooner. Being a Chad hater is obviously allowed, but posting hate just for the sake of getting attention in not.
Chad I’m not going to lie, I did’nt use to be a fan but after all the heart you have shown in the last couple of years I am now. I really hope you are able to get back out there next week and know that if at all possible you will. If James Stewart had half the heart you do he would be a much improved rider. Good luck Chad hope you can get back soon, racing will be a little boring with out the double deuce! No one else this year has any fight for RV1 this year except you, you and the red machine are an awesome combo! For a while i was never a fan but man you have made me a believer in the 22, you are tough as they come boss after last Summer you have shown the world that no matter how races turn out you are the man and doing it on your own terms. You are 100% heart man… hope you have a good prognosis from your doc! hopefully it’s only something minor! Stay strong man!

I really hope Chad didn’t tear his ACL or Miniscus. I’m not a huge Reed fan, ever since he wused out from the Kawasaki team with some lame excuse about having ebstein-bar or something, which has apparently gone away now that he rides for himself, but I am a huge fan of balls to wall racing, and I gotta give it to Chad, he looked better than Villapoto… and that’s saying a lot, cause that guy is a machine. I don’t see how anyone is going to chalenge him now! So get better Chad and show us what you got!
Does anybody else feel like Reed is the bond that hold this whole epic Supercross/Motocross season together? It really will not be the same without him. Let’s all support TwoTwo Motosports, for this company is his (and families) heart, income, soul and a company he created when know one beleived in him….he had em’ right where he wanted em’.
