The 2012 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship series, went to New Orleans, Louisiana for round number fourteen of the Supercross Class Championship and round number eight of the Eastern Regional Lites series. In the Supercross Class, it was once again all about the Monster Energy/Kawasaki rider Ryan Villopoto.

RV1 was the fastest rider of the night and easily walked away from the field for his ninth win of the 2012 season. His time of 53.103 was more than a half second faster than anyone else in the class, pushing him to a mid-race ten-second lead that allowed him to put it on cruise control for the win.

In the Lites Main Event, five guys were within a couple tenths of each other for fastest lap. The fastest lap of the night came from the fifth place finisher, Red Bull/KTM’s Ken Roczen (53.410), and the fifth fastest lap–strangely enough–came from the winner of the Main Event, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Darryn Durham (53.590). With five riders so close in speed the Main Event was all about the start and consistency.

Check out the graphs below to see how both Main Events played out.

On the left of each graph, you will notice the lap times and the numbers on the bottom signifying each lap. Below that, we have the top five riders in the order they finished and each lap time from the Main Event after their name. Also, note that each rider’s fastest lap is shaded in blue.
