It looks like both of the Kawasaki #1 plates will be vacant for the 2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Dean Wilson came into Hangtown hoping to begin his 2011 250 AMA Motocross tile defense, but the shoulder injury he sustained at the Seattle Supercross would not let that happen. Just eleven laps into the opening moto of the year, Deano pulled off. After the race, the very disappointed defending champ said his shoulder popped in and out of the socket during the race and he could not continue. We expect to see a press release out of the Pro Circuit camp in the next couple of days telling us that Dean will be heading in for surgery to repair his shoulder. We will keep you posted.

Dean put out this tweet from his Twitter account @deanwilson15 after the race.

Last week, we interviewed Dean. He talked about his shoulder injury and the possibility of this happening. Read the interview with Dean Wilson »
