In a sport that deals out its share of tragedies, it’s rare that we report the death of a rider that doesn’t start with a crash, but today we lost a Northwest moto warrior to a sudden illness. Thirty-one year old Oregon-native Tiger Lacey died today from a sudden illness at a Bend, Oregon hospital. So far, details are scarce, but after getting sick, Tiger slipped into a coma and passed on earlier today.
Being from the Northwest, I raced against Tiger in the 90’s and knew him as a fierce competitor. Tiger went on to leave the NW and have some success in the pro ranks before returning to the NW, but the #221 never hung his boots up. Tiger is very well loved up here in the Northwest and will be missed. We will bring you more when we hear more, but for now, all our thoughts and prayers are with the Lacey family.
RIP Tiger Lacey!
