Pourcel

We have seen so many comebacks from the brilliant Frenchman Christophe Pourcel that you often have to wonder when one of his comebacks will bring what we all hope for, what he hopes for.

One of the most gifted riders the sport has seen from the last decade, yet until now unable to add to his 2006 FIM World MX2 Championship. 10 years of searching for perfection in himself and his team. Sure injury has cost him badly, but still, we all hope and wait for the Husqvarna rider to bring us something special.

Last weekend at the opening round of the Lucas Oils AMA Nationals he finished top ten, not bad for somebody who hasn’t raced for more than a season.

“Today was ok,” said Pourcel. “It’s my first race back in 12 months, so it was tough. The speed is there. The goal is to be in the top 10 in the first five races so we got that. We’re still trying to get me more comfortable with the team and the bike, and I think we’ll have a good setup. I have the speed to be in the top five and the goal is to fight for that every weekend. I got a bad start and rode a little tight in the second moto. I have to fix a few things, but I’ll rebound next weekend. I got eighth overall so I’m happy with that as my first race back.”
