A-Mart won the first moto at Budds Creek, but can he win an overall in 2015? Photo by: Hoppenworld

Over the first seven rounds of the 2015 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, we have only seen two different winners in the 250MX class. At the moment, Red Bull/KTM’s Marvin Musquin leads Star Racing/Yamaha’s Jeremy Martin by ten points in the 250MX Championship and leads the overall win count over Jeremy by four wins to two. At Budds Creek Cycletrader.com/Rock River/Yamaha’s Alex Martin won the opening moto and was one position away in moto two from becoming the third winner of 2015. In the end, he tied Musquin in points on the day, but the #25’s second moto won the tie-breaker. That was the closest to a third winner we have been so far.

While Alex got close to breaking up the Marvin-Jeremy domination last Saturday, there are quite a few other candidates in the field getting closer to the front each weekend. Rockstar/Husqvarna’s Zach Osborne has two second overall finishes, Troy Lee Designs/KTM’s Jessy Nelson has two podium finishes and Star Racing/Yamaha’s Cooper Webb and Joey Savatgy have scored a podium apiece.

Webb just re-entered the mix and is the only rider in the field that has won a National in the past. Cooper led sixteen laps at Red Bud, and he looks ready to play the spoiler role for the rest of the series. Another rider that led laps at Red Bud and could play the spoiler is GEICO/Honda’s Christian Craig. With a the ink still drying on his 2016 GEICO/Honda contract, we look for Craig to break through for his first-ever overall podium and even possibly win one of these.

All the riders mentioned are possibly one holeshot away from pulling out their first win of the 2015 season, but we’re asking you, who will be the first to pull it off. You can give us your vote below.
