During the MX2 Qualifying race at the 2015 FIM Motocross of Nations, Team Grear Britain’s Max Anstie was landed on by Team Austria’s Pascal Rauchenecker while running third. It was a scary moment for everyone watching and a heartbreaker for the GBR fans.

Steve Dixon, Max’s team manager, gave this comment.

“Just been to see Max,” Dixon said. “He is in good spirits and tomorrow hopefully they will put him in an upper body cast to immobilise the back, his T3 is broke but no spinal damage, a couple of months proper rest will see Max healed up, a huge relief considering the hit he took, he is absolutely gutted not to have been riding for his country. 2 or 3 day then he should be airlifted to the UK, main thing is not to put any pressure on the back at this stage and allow the bone to heal strong.”
