Just weeks after Husqvarna rider and Rockstar Energy athlete Ryan Sipes had his name written in the history books as the first American to win the Individual Overall ISDE Award, he picked up his first National Enduro win in Lynnville, Indiana.

The dry but slick Black Coal Enduro course offered up lots of dust to the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team as Josh Strang and Andrew DeLong met the day’s obstacles with fervor. In the first 9.6 miles test, Strang charged for the win, with Sipes in 2nd and DeLong finishing 4th. Heading into the second 10 mile test, Sipes managed to claim 1st with Strang in 4th and DeLong not far behind. Sipes would continue to dominate the day, while Strang hovered around the top 5 positions. Sipes would win three of the six tests, while Strang fought with the dust and tighter conditions and DeLong would battle pain from a previous injury. Ultimately Sipes would take the win, with Strang in 5th and DeLong 10th overall.

“I got my first National Enduro win today and it feels awesome. National Enduro doesn’t come easy to me as its way tighter and more technical than my motocross background. My hands are a little beat up from hitting the trees but I guess thats what it takes in enduro. At the end it was a really good day and I’m looking forward to the GNCC this weekend,“ explained Sipes.

Husqvarna saw more riders cross the finish line out front as Nick Fahringer took 6th place, Ryder Lafferty took 12th and Craig DeLong finished 14th. The next round will conclude the season for the 2015 series in Mathews, IN for the Muddobbers National Enduro. “
