Red Bull KTM factory rider Marvin Musquin has commented that he will not compete in this weekend’s Red Bull Straight Rhythm after having an operation on his troublesome wrist. He will however race in Geneve in December and then of course the AMA Supercross in January.

“In the month of June I crashed at the Lakewood round of the AMA 250 Nationals, where I injured my wrist, which worsened with racing. I knew that by continuing to race that I was taking risks but at the same time I couldn’t give up. Once the championship was over, I consulted with Dr. Ardouin. His verdict was already clear, there was a need to operate. But the Motocross des Nations meant too much for me and for France.

“Monday morning after Ernee, I went back to my doctor to make additional tests and those tests have confirmed once again the need to operate. So I trusted Dr. Ardouin and had the operation. During the operation he was amazed that of what he saw. It does indeed still not how I could do to ride. Simply put, I damaged the ligament of the wrist and the bones then rubbed against my tendons, causing a major inflammation, and the breaking of some tendons in my fingers, which explains Why I couldn’t bend my little finger.

“I’m really happy that we are able to understand the problems that I had for several months, and that I hope to return 100%. Now we need of rest and let eveything heal. I cannot participate in the Red Bull Straight Rhythm this weekend. My next big date will be the supercross from Geneva before of course the resumption of the Supercross championship in January.”
