Last weekend at the 2016 Detroit SX, Red Bull / KTM’s Ryan Dungey became the first rider in Monster Energy Supercross history to get a win taken away due to a DQ or a penalty. Ryan handily won the Detroit SX 450SX main event, but he was later docked two positions for jumping a double under a red cross flag situation—giving Rockstar Husqvarna’s Jason Anderson the win. The red cross flag symbolizes that a rider is down in a dangerous spot and you must keep your wheels to the ground.

Since the penalty was handed down on Saturday night, we’ve read interviews with Dungey and Kevin Crowther from the AMA and have read lots of discussions on the penalty, but we had not seen any video until today.

Fast forward the video below to 3:45 and you can watch exactly how the situation played out and make your own decision.
