450 Class Stats

Fast Start: Ken Roczen’s Hangtown victory was the first opening round win in the 450 Class and the seventh overall win of his career, putting him in a tie for 17th all time.

Overdue Sweep: It was Roczen’s first 1-1 sweep since RedBud during his championship-winning 2014 season. He led every lap of competition.

Still Chasing: Ryan Dungey remains winless at Hangtown, the only venue in the championship where he’s yet to win. However, he’s posted six consecutive runner-up efforts at the track.

Rare Feat: Eli Tomac became the first rider since Trey Canard at Budds Creek in 2013 to finish on the overall podium without a top-three result in either moto.

Resilient Rides: Tomac and Jason Anderson showed their mettle at Hangtown en route to third and fourth-place finishes. Tomac passed more than seven riders per moto, while Anderson passed nine riders per moto.

Suzuki Back on Top: Suzuki is leading the championship for the first time since James Stewart carried the red plate in 2012.

250 Class Stats

Breakout Effort: Although he has one overall win to his credit, Joey Savatgy had never won a moto until sweeping at Hangtown for his second career victory.

Pro Circuit is Back: Savatgy gave Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki its first moto win since Blake Baggett won at Budds Creek in 2014. It was the team’s first 1-1 sweep since Baggett’s win at High Point in 2014.

Historic Margin: Savatgy’s 15-point lead after just one round is the most since Mike Alessi held a 12-point advantage during the 2006 season.

Strong Showing: Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha put four of its five riders inside the top five at Hangtown. Three of the four earned a moto podium, while two landed on the overall podium.

The Elder Martin: Alex Martin’s Pro Motocross debut with Star Yamaha resulted in a tie for his career-best result of second overall. He climbed from sixth to second in Moto 2.

Solid Debuts: Rookies Austin Forkner and Tristan Charboneau made their Pro Motocross debuts at Hangtown, both finishing inside the top 10. Forkner was eighth with Charboneau ninth.
