Two moto sweep for Millsaps at Round 3 in Calgary.
The KTM Thor Racing Team took total control of the 3rd round of the CMRC Canadian Motocross Series. MX1 rider Davi Millsaps and MX2 rider Cole Thompson went 1-1 for a perfect moto day at Wild Rose MX Park.
Davi Millsaps started his day strongly by setting the fastest lap time in qualification on a track he had never ridden before. Millsaps got two great starts and once again grabbed the lead early on. The MX1 rider looked really comfortable on his KTM 450 SX-F and rode two flawless races all the way to the checkered flag. “I’m really happy to get the red plate back and I’m not planning on letting it go. It was definitely a great weekend for me as my wife and son made the trip up north and got to see me win twice.”
Great starts and consistency led to a 4th overall for Benoit.
Round 3 was also a great one for Kaven Benoit as he showed great speed and consistency through the whole day. Kaven got to battle with the leaders in Moto 1 but the highlight of his weekend was certainly his holeshot in Moto 2. On top of his 4th place finish overall, he also turned out to be the top Canadian finisher rider in the fast and stacked MX1 class. “It was a solid weekend for me. I got consistent results in the top 5 and it felt really good to get a holeshot and ride up front.”
Cole Thompson confirmed his Championship Mindset in Calgary. The rocky Alberta track did not seem to be an obstacle for the #4 and his KTM 250 SX-F. In moto 1, Cole did not get the start he wished for, but he quickly made smart passes to grab the lead. The second race was easier as he started up front and managed to extend his lead by up to 30 sec. “I am starting to grow my championship lead as well as my confidence. It feels great to see the results of all the hard work I put into my program in the off season.”
With now both red plates, the KTM Thor Racing Team will head to the last Western round in Regina, Saskatchewan.
