Every year, the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship becomes a war of attrition as the series wears on, and we have now lost three of the top five riders in the 450MX class. First we lost both HRC / Honda’s Trey Canard and Red Bull / KTM’s Ryan Dungey to back injuries, and today the Rockstar Energy / Husqvarna team announced that their top rider, Jason Anderson, will miss six to eight weeks due to a broken collarbone and a minor AC separation sustained in a practice crash.

Jason put out an update from his Instagram account, @elhombre_21, “Unfortunately this is not what my weekends are going to look like for awhile”, Jason said. “Was really wanting to try and work towards those Moto win battles. Good news is that I have one kick ass team and we are both going to strive to be better and learn from this. Thanks for all the messages everyone! Keep yah updated on the progress!”

The Rockstar Husqvarna team said, “Bummed to announce @elhombre_21 will be out 6-8 weeks due to a practice crash that resulted in a broken collarbone and an AC separation in his shoulder that will require surgery. Heal up Jason!”

It’s always a bummer to lose top riders in any series, but with RCH / Suzuki’s Ken Roczen running away at the front and making it a little boring, this may make it even more boring. We wish Jason a speedy recovery and hope to see the #21 back at it soon.
