Washougal, Wash. (July 23, 2016) –Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM saw the return of both Jessy Nelsonand Justin Hill at the picturesque Washougal Motocross Park outside Portland, with Nelson racing to a Moto 2 podium finish and Hill grabbing fifth overall. Teammate Mitchell Oldenburg finished 10th overall to put all three riders in top 10.
In his first race back since Glen Helen in May, Hill was happy to be back charging in front of his home crowd. Growing up about two and a half hours from Washougal, Hill has always enjoyed racing the circuit and it showed with two finishes inside the top 10. His 8-4 moto result was the top of the team for fifth overall.
Also back for his first race was Nelson, who hadn’t been on track since Thunder Valley at the beginning of June. While he had only been on the bike less than a week, Nelson learned from his first moto result of 16th to come out swinging in Moto 2. He got a great start and stayed with the front pack to score his second moto podium of the season. Nelson’s 16-3 moto result scored him 9th overall.
Rounding out the top 10 finishes was the Oldenburg, who has had to endure the grueling schedule as the series hit its 10th round. He kept a steady speed for both motos to enjoy his third top-10 finish of the season.“I’m really looking forward to a few weekends off,” said Oldenburg. “It’s been fun representing the team with many of my teammates out but with outdoors being so intense, I’m ready to enjoy a some down time. I’ll be back to end the season on a high note.”

After six weeks of straight racing, the team gets a two-weekend break before rejoining the series in New Berlin, New York at Unadilla MX on August 13.

The Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM riders were looking good in their SE Air Starburst Flo Yellow and Orange racewear with the SE4 Adidas helmet. See all of the 2016 gear sets and the 2016 Moto Helmetsonline and at your local TLD retailer.
