MXGP has hit another milestone stateside with the confirmation that the 2016 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations presented by Fiat Professional will be broadcasted LIVE, for the first time in the modern day era, in the U.S and Canada on CBS Sports Network.

30 years ago Team USA took the world by storm right here at the spectacular track of Maggiora when their ‘Dream Team’ David Bailey, Johnny O’Mara and Ricky Johnson won the most prestigious event of the year, the 1986 Motocross of Nations, with a perfect score! This weekend the summit of the year, the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations presented by FIAT Professional, will take place at Maggiora Park, on the same track it did three decades ago.

CBS Sports will be providing American and Canadian fans coverage of the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations presented by Fiat Professional, in a three-hour timeslot that will start at 7.00am EST (4am PST) on Sunday September 25th.

“With the Internet and social media covering virtually everything that happens on the planet in real time, we felt that the Monster Energy MXoN had to be broadcasted live on television in the United States and Canada”, says Youthstream Director of Corporate Relations Mr. Mario Marini, “as opposed to the regular MXGP season where we chose to air on a slightly delayed same-day basis to make it friendlier TV programming wise for the viewers in North America, the 2016 Monster Energy MXoN will get most fans of this region out of their beds on Sunday September 25th.

With a time difference of 6 to 9 hours, and even more if we count in the U.S. mid Pacific territories, the early wake-up call will be definitely worth the sacrifice as it’ll give the fans the privilege of watching Cooper Webb, Jason Anderson and Alex Martin live in action in their attempt to bring back the winner’s MXoN trophy to the U.S.”
