Riders from around the world will arrive at the famous Dutch stadium the Gelredome, in Arnhem, Holland on October 22, and there might be some surprises. Half a dozen American riders taking on riders from Australia, Great Britain, France, Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Spain, Denmark, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary and of course The Netherlands.

It doesn’t get any better than this. The World MXGP champions from the last two years, Tim Gajser (Slovenia) and Romain Febvre (France), coming up against the current AMA 250 Supercross champion Malcolm Stewart (America), and 2015 EMX 250 champion Nick Kouwenberg (Holland).

Of course Gajser and Febvre both won a race each last weekend at the SMX Cup in Germany, beating AMA Supercross champion Ryan Dungey, and showing that the European riders are just as good as their American rivals.

Gajser who was to race this weekend’s Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas has decided to rest his body in preparation for the Arnhem Supercross, a race he wants to win.

“I am really looking forward to it, I think it’s the first time they race there and it’s something new. A big show and some really good names, so it will be nice racing and I am looking forward to this race, it will be my last race of the 2016 season.”

Romain Febvre is also expecting to have a lot of fun in Arnhem. The 2015 MXGP world champion and star of the last two Motocross of Nations knows that if he has fun, he will do well.

“I like to ride Supercross and that is why I do Arnhem. I like to do something different with the bike, not just motocross. Last year I did supermoto in Belgium, but I didn’t enjoy it like before, so I said I stop with supermoto and try and find another supercross. So I decided to do Arnhem. It used to be in Genoa, but now it’s in Arnhem. So we found this one and we said let’s do this one. We had a talk and we found a deal with them.”

Febvre knows racing against American rider Malcolm Stewart will be difficult, but he will try and race with these guys.

“You know it all comes from America, the supercross, but it’s nice to have times like this. I can go there and I don’t expect anything, just to have fun on the bike and be safe, that is it. I like to do something different with the off-season. So Arnhem is good.”

Supercross is a sport with a lot of drama and action, and on October 22, there is no doubt that these four riders will be involved in some really tough battles.

Kouwenberg who has raced in the AMA Supercros series, knows that Supercross is a dog eat dog sport and it’s going to take a mammoth effort for the local riders to keep track of Stewart, Gajser and Febvre.

Don’t be surprised to see the name of Frenchman Thomas Ramette on the podium or there abouts. The winner of last weekend’s Swedish Supercross is a brilliant indoor specialist and his performances around Europe have made him one of the most popular riders European Supercross, with victories in Sweden, Germany, England and France.
