Over the years, there have been a myriad of advancements in two wheeled motorsports racing, but none bigger than actually removing the combustion motor in favor of electricity. After watching a retired racer that hasn’t even raced in a while, Josh Hill, suit up and take on the Lites Class at Red Bull Straight Rhythm—and finish 4th—we have to wonder, did the electric Alta dirt bike actually provided an advantage to Hill on Saturday. It no doubt tracked better through the whoops than any 250F we have ever seen. This was a huge coming out party for Alta and they were no doubt ready for action. What are your thoughts on electric dirt bikes? Are they the future? How long until we see them competing on the regular? These questions will no doubt be answered in time.
