The biggest mystery of the 2017 Supercross and Motocross Silly Season signings has been where will James Stewart and Malcolm Stewart be in 2017. Other than Malcolm suiting up and riding a GEICO Honda 450 at the Arnhem SX, there has really been no news about where two of the most talented and polarizing riders the sport has ever seen could end up for 2017. The Stewart camp has always been quiet, but it has been scary quiet lately. We haven’t heard anything, seen a video of James riding—we are talking complete radio silence.

Remember, love or hate James, we’re talking about arguably the most talented rider this sport has ever seen. Yes, James had the worst season of his Hall of Fame career in ’16—only scoring 33 points in SX / MX combined—but that cannot be the way the #7 wants to call it a career. And when we’re talking about Malcolm, we’re talking about the 2016 Eastern Regional 250SX Champion. Even if James wanted to walk away at this point, Mookie is literally just getting started. To be honest, I simply cannot see a world where both of these championship-winning brothers do not get a deal done for 2017.

Just six months ago Malcolm was celebrating the first Championship of his career.

We have heard in the past that the James and Malcolm would really like to put together a family effort, and today we saw something on Instagram that peaked our interest. Chris Crossland, owner of Crossland Racing and a partner at Ride365.com, just dropped a couple Instagram posts that have us thinking that Chris and the Stewart’s may be up to something. There are not too many team owners in the pits I could see making this happen, but Chris is someone with the money, the infrastructure and a start up company—Ride365.com—that could greatly benefit from the publicity that will no doubt come with having James and Malcolm in the rig. When you combine Crossland Racing, Honda, Ride365, Red Bull, Seven and the Stewart brothers, you have an effort that will demand attention.

Will this happen? We have no real information yet, but I know Chris isn’t just promoting the Stewart’s for a good time on Instagram. Hopefully we hear more soon, but you can check out Chris’ Instagram posts below. They have since been deleted from Chris’ page.
