Smartop / MotoConcepts / Honda’s Mike Alessi had a rough main event at the 2017 Anaheim SX. After starting dead last, Mike slowly picked off a few riders before disaster struck over the big triple. Mike hit a false neutral and faced the landing of the triple about as hard as I’ve ever seen someone face a landing. The #800 was carried off the track by the medics, but fortunately he came away with very minor injuries. Especially considering the blow he took.

Mike put out an update on social media, “I took a very hard hit to the stomach, but after being checked out by all of my doctors I am OK just really sore. As the week progresses I will make a decision on racing this weekend in San Diego.”

Check out video of the crash sent out from Mike’s Instagram account.
