Troy Lee Designs / KTM’s Shane McElrath backed his win up from the opener in Anaheim by making it two in a row at the 2017 San Diego SX. Not only did Shane win the second main event of his career, he did it with a very impressive come-from-behind performance in one of the best races in recent history. Shane now leads the 250SX West Championship by eight points over Plessinger heading into A2.
Joining Shane on the podium was Monster Energy / Pro Circuit / Kawasaki’s Justin Hill and Star Racing / Yamaha’s Aaron Plessinger. Like Shane, both Justin and Aaron made their way to the podium after bad starts.
After the race was in the books, Shane, Justin and Aaron sat down and answered questions for the press in the post race press conference inside Petco Park’s Auditorium Center.
