HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (Feb. 26, 2017) – The Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga. was host to round eight of the 2017 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship. The largest crowd so far of the 2017 season had 60,074 fans on hand and Fox Sports One televised the event live.

Jake Weimer continues to substitute for Weston Peick while he recovers from injury, and Kyle Peters is riding for Matt Bisceglia in the 250SX East Series.

Justin Barcia transferred to the Main Event through Semi Two, Weimer made the Main Event once again by winning the LCQ. In the Main Event Weimer and Barcia did not get the starts they wanted, with Weimer down in the first turn and Barcia at the back of the field. Weimer, who has been struggling with a tweaked back sustained in Minneapolis fell again in the sand section. Barcia worked his way up to 16th at the finish, and Weimer was 18th.

Contesting the 250SX East Class Peters transferred to the Main Event directly from his Heat Race. He began the Main Event in 11th position, and was able to improve to ninth by the finish.

The series will visit its only stop outside of the U.S. on March 4 when it travels to the Rogers Centre in Ont., Canada. Fox Sports One will broadcast the race at 10:00 p.m. (EST).
