It was originally thought that the newest pick up by GEICO / Honda, rookie Cameron McAdoo, would debut with the team in Detroit, but it now looks like we will not see the former Motoconcepts rider until the East Rutherford SX five weeks from now.

The freshman 250SX rider injured his hand the week before Daytona and the team wants to give Cameron time to heal up. The GEICO / Honda team said from Instagram, “Mcadoo enjoyed some brief testing on his new ride this week. However, his hand is not yet ready to race and will be sitting out the next two weekends. He will be prepping for MX and will debut at the NJ SX round when the East Coast 250cc series resumes.”

With Cameron getting a surprise contract through the 2018 season, this is a solid move by the team. There is no hurry in rushing Cameron back at this point and this will allow them to get him dialed in for the last two supercross’ and the upcoming Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.
