Troy Lee Designs / Red Bull / KTM’s Alex Martin will be sitting out the 2017 St Louis SX due to his unscheduled meeting with GEICO / Honda’s Christian Craig during qualifying in Detroit. It’s a tough break for the #26—who was just beginning to get his season on track. “Unfortunately, due to injuries sustained from the practice incident in Detroit, I will be sitting out St Louis this weekend, ” Alex said from his Instagram account today. “Really disappointed for it to happen this way, but I can’t thank the team and sponsors enough for the support this season!”

After already being forced to miss the Detroit SX, Alex fell from 6th in the 250SX Eastern Regional SX Championship down to 8th. With his absents in St Louis, he is likely to be outside the top ten when the series reconvenes at the 2017 East Rutherford SX. Time to rest up and focus on the 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.
