While we have seen quite a few riders land on other riders off the triples in Monster Energy Supercross, we cannot remember the last time we saw both riders ride away unscathed. In 450SX Semi 1 during the 2017 Detroit SX, Smartop / MotoConcepts Honda’s Mike Alessi landed on his teammate Vince Friese over the triple and they both miraculously kept it on two wheels.

I have sat and watched races in the press box with the Motoconcepts team manager and the father of Mike, Tony Alessi, and the man is intense to say the least. I can guarantee you Tony was a wreck as this moment unfolded. As it turns out, though, both riders rode away from the incident and went on to qualify for the main event. Mike qualified through this semi, and Vince made it in later through the LCQ.

Check out the video of the incident from FOX Sports 1 coverage.
