In the beginning of moto 2, Monster Energy / Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac made a big mistake and hit the ground hard. The #3 damaged his front brake in the crash and dropped to 14th, before fighting his way back up to finish 5th in the moto. Eli finished the day 3rd overall (2-5 scorecard) behind Marvin Musquin (1-1) and Dean Wilson (3-3).
