Troy Lee Designs / KTM’s Alex Martin will be forced to sit out another weekend due to injury. The #26 missed the 2017 Washougal National due to a shoulder injury he sustained training. “Wishing I could be lining up to race @promotocross this weekend, but, after 2 weeks of throwing everything in the name of rehab at my shoulder it’s still not strong enough to ride,” Alex said from his @AlexMartin_26 Instagram account. “Huge thanks to @mx_therapist for letting me use his #pemf to speed the process up! #injuriessuck”

Alex was sitting second in the 250MX championship standings before the injury bug bit him. With the points fairly tight behind him, he is now in jeopardy of falling back to as far as 7th in the standings. Alex—a member of Team USA at the 2016 MXoN—has been one of the names tossed around as a possibility for Team USA in 2017, but this injury could take him off of Roger DeCoster’s short list.
