At round nine of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, Autotrader / Suzuki / JGRMX’s Justin Barcia hit the ground hard in qualifying, and he had everyone holding their collective breaths when he laid on the circuit for quite some time without any movement. The #51 did eventually come to and sat up when being loaded onto the medic mule, but he was quickly loaded into an ambulance and taken to a local hospital for further observation.

There was no word on Justin’s status for this weekend’s Unadilla National, and to nobodies surprise JGRMX just announced that he will be not be racing at Unadilla. “Barcia sustained a concussion during the final practice session at Washougal on July 29th,” @JGRMX said from Instagram. “While Justin is feeling better, he has not been cleared to race this weekend at Unadilla by his doctor. The Autotrader / Suzuki / JGRMX team respects the medical process and wishes Justin Barcia a full recovery. We will provide an update on Justin’s health status this coming week. Thank you to our loyal sponsors and fans for your support.”

We are used to seeing a lot of injuries towards the end of a series, but we cannot remember a week with quite so many injury updates. Just check out home page to see what we mean. We wish Justin a speedy recovery and hope to see BamBam back soon. On a good note for the JGRMX squad, Phil Nicoletti is making his return this weekend from his gnarly heel injury in SX.
