After a highly decorated amateur career—including 450A and 450B Loretta Lynn’s Championships—and seven tough injury riddled years racing professional Supercross and Motocross, Gannon Audette has decided to hang up his professional racing boots for good and retire. Gannon put out the announcement from his Instagram account.

“It is with a heavy heart that today I announce my retirement from professional motocross and supercross, Gannon said. “Dirt bikes have been my whole life until this summer and it has made me realize a lot of things in life and has led me to make this decision. I have met so many people and have made so many memories racing all over the world that I will cherish and remember for the rest of my life good and bad. I want to thank everyone who has helped me through my amateur career along with my pro career. I will miss the fans as they gave me a lot of purpose to be out there on the track giving them a show and having a lot fun while doing it. I will still be at select few rounds of supercross as a spectator to cheer everyone on. Thank you to everyone!

Gannon was always one of those guys we felt was one big break and one injury free year away from getting the most out of his potential, but unfortunately injuries always seemed to get the best of the Floridian. As recently as in 2016 we saw Gannon fill in over at Monster Energy / Pro Circuit / Kawasaki and live a life long dream by putting one of Mitch Payton’s bikes on the podium. That is an accomplishment that most anyone that has thrown a leg over a dirt bike would love to take with them into retirement.

We wish Gannon luck and hope to see him at the races spectating in the future.
