The odds on 450SX Championship favorite heading into 2018, Eli Tomac, just likely ended any chance of him being in title hunt. At the A1 season opener, Monster Energy / Kawasaki’s Eli crashed out of the main event while leading and scored just one point. The #3 Kawasaki is in Houston today, but after trying to ride through the pain in free practice, four laps of the first qualifying session and four laps of the final qualifying session today, Eli has pulled out of round two with a shoulder injury.
“Eli Tomac is unable to race tonight as he continues to recover from injuries last week,” announced Monster Energy / Kawasaki from Instagram. Eli will now leave Houston with a two race disadvantage in the Championship. We hope to see Eli back in the near future and of course we will update you when we see some official words from the team.
