Heading into the 2018 Houston SX, Red Bull / KTM’s Marvin Musquin had a full head of steam. The Frenchman came from behind the win the A1 opener and looked poised to make a genuine run at his first-ever 450SX title. In the sport of SX, though, things can change quickly and in Marvin’s heat race his season went sideways real fast through the whoop section.

The #25 went down through the whoop section and suffered a dislocated shoulder. With that and the extreme pain that comes with the injury, Marvin decided to sit out the Houston SX to get his shoulder evaluated this week. We have not heard or read any full prognosis from Marvin or the Red Bull KTM team, but Marvin’s Instagram posts lead us to believe he will be giving it a go.

Below we posted all of @MarvinMusquin25‘s Instagram posts that start with him saying, “I will get some exams done early this week and we will go from there,” goes on to say “taking it day by day,” and ends with the last one saying “pre-race prep.” It sounds like at the very least Marvin will be suiting up for qualifying and taking it from there. If there’s one thing we learned from covering Marvin’s career over the years, the former Regional 250SX Champ knows how to ride through injuries and make the best of a bad situation.

Check out Marvin’s Instagram posts below and you can draw your own conclusion on whether or not we will see Marv at A2. We will ad updates to this post when we know more.
