While leading heat 2 at the 2018 Arlington SX, Monster Energy / Knich / Yamaha’s Justin Barcia checked up off the triple—only doubling it—and his hand was landed on Tyler Bowers. Justin was looked at by the Alpinestars Medic crew and it was reported that Justin has a broken bone in his hand. “Small set back will have surgery tomorrow and be back at it in no time,” Justin said from his Instagram account. “Luckily it’s just my hand and I can still keep my fitness up off the bike! Thanks to all my fans and great sponsors!!!” Justin was second in the points heading into Arlington, but those Championship hopes are now all but over.
