March 19, 2018 – Livingston, CA – 51FIFTY Energy Drink Yamaha racer Kyle Chisholm continued his strong showing in the 450SX campaign with a 15th place finish in St. Louis, Missouri. The #11 opted to race through the regular mid-season break, posting consistent finishes for the past 5 rounds.
Practice and qualifying went well for Chisholm as his steady riding style fit well with the mid-west dirt. He put the 51FIFTY Energy Drink Yamaha YZ450F up front in the first Heat race, securing the final transfer position directly to the Main Event. This is a feat of itself as the 450SX class is stacked full of factory riders.
Consistency would be the name of the game in the 450 Main Event. The front runners established themselves early and Chisholm fought tooth and nail to lock down a solid position inside the Top 15. Kyle’s calculated technique played a helping hand as the track continued to deteriorate into the 20 minute + 1 lap race. Chisholm would cross the line in 15th. After 5 rounds of racing and 5 main event finishes, the #11 would secure 22nd in overall season points.
“I’m satisfied with my 450 results, I’ve been close to the Top 10 but this week was a bit off the pace ,” Chisholm said after the race. “My plan all along was to keep the ball rolling from the 250 season and use this time to continue my training program and keep my body on race shape. We definitely did that and being at the races is still as fun as it’s ever been. Today was difficult, I felt just a bit off the pace in every session and I feel like I should’ve been higher up on the board at the end. I’m excited to get back on the YZ250F and finishing out the season strong back on the west coast.“
