Oakland, CA- Round four of the west coast supercross series kicked off in Oakland last Saturday night. Cole Seely and Travis Baker were both looking for rebound races after a troublesome round three. And they both got some vindication.

The heat race was great for Cole Seely. Cole made his way to the front early, passing for the lead on lap two, and cruised to an easy win. It was a great way to start the night and certainly confidence building for Cole. Travis Baker got off to a slow start and made a couple mistakes during the race. Still, he worked his way forward and qualified himself into the main event.

In the final both riders got excellent jumps off the line and they rounded turn one in fourth and fifth respectively. On the second lap though Seely would hit a slick spot on the landing of a steep double and lose the rear end. He remounted and worked his way back into 11th position by the end of the race. Baker stayed near the front, holding his position for much of the race. He would finish in 6th, matching his career best supercross finish.

“I’m happy with the way I rode tonight,” said Travis Baker after the race. “I feel like I haven’t really shown what I’m capable of yet all year and this was a good step forward. Hopefully I can keep this momentum going and get myself on the box before we go to the break.”

Cole Seely was a little more frustrated with his result.

“This was definitely not the finish I wanted tonight,” said Seely. “It’s frustrating because I feel like I have the speed and the fitness I just haven’t been putting it together the last couple weeks. Last week I got pushed off the track in turn one and this week I made a mistake on my own. I’ve just got to look ahead to next week and try to get my team back on the podium in Anaheim.”

The team’s third rider Christian Craig will miss much of the remaining Supercross series due to a wrist surgery, but will be traveling with the team for support and to participate in autograph sessions.

The series heads back to the house of Jeremy McGrath, Angel Stadium in Anaheim. With only a couple rounds left before a long break in the west region series the TLD boys will be letting it rip in hopes of chalking up another win. Come cheer the team on at Anaheim!
