Yoshimura/Suzuki’s James Stewart went down hard while leading moto one of the Thunder Valley National and the early word is a wrist injury. The crash came early in the moto, and James said it was due to a track official crossing the track in front of him. GoPro released a video that indeed showed the track worker crossing track just as James came over a downhill jump. James missed moto two and there is no word yet on his full diagnosis or when he will be back, but we will keep you updated as we hear more. James is now thirty-six points behind Red Bull/KTM’s Ryan Dungey in the points.

James obviously was put off by the idiot walking in front of him because he’s not going to crash that easily without a break in concentration . Your dreaming if you think different. There should not be a complete loss of points for this type of event.
Well. Seeing how Stewart crashes all the time. We all knew it would be a matter of time before he crashed again. Apperently Scooter didn’t watch the 2012 supercross season this year. Stewart crashed in almost every race without someone crossing the track in front of him. I’m sure it was a distraction, but they have to avoid distractions all the time when racing. Other riders going down in front of them, flaggers on the track. Avoiding another rider crashing in front of you. Bottom line, No Excuses! James made a mistake and crashed. Thats part of MX racing. He’ll be back to crash again!
I Agree with packersfan806. James is a great rider but he is way too aggressive both SX 2011 and 2012 he made many mistakes that you would not expect from a professional rider.
I hope that he will be back to give Ryan a bit of competition considering both Chad and Ryan.V are out this season. Sure there are some other good riders, but not at the same level as Ryan/Stuart.
For the past few years I’ve been a guarded JS fan. Guarded because he disappointed more than had success. I was hopeful with the new team and he really looked to be riding in control with a new maturity. As fast as he has been riding he never looked like he was pushing the limit. Dungey would close, James would take it up enough to stay out front. Scooter, LaDouche agrees. It was a freak thing in a tough part of the track. Dungey is riding more aggressive and can actually pass this year but can’t get it done against JS.
Pffftt… No doubt it was a distraction, a small one but at this level, he should be able to deal with it. No more than the moronic mechanics waving a pit board in theirs faces every lap! He just needs to man up and own up to his mistakes. I think he would gain much more respect.
