Round three of the 2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship and the Thunder Valley National from Lakewood, Colorado is officially in our rear-view mirror. The day was a crazy one with rain coming down off and on and lightning creating a long delay, but in the end, there was still some incredible racing. A big crash by Yoshimura/Suzuki’s James Stewart led to a very dominant 1-1 score by Red Bull/KTM’s Ryan Dungey in the 450 Class, and GEICO Powersports/Honda’s Justin Barcia won a hard-fought battle in the 250 Class with a 1-2 score on the day.

The fastest lap times of the day were turned in by James Stewart (2:06.779) in the 450 Class and by Monster/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Blake Baggett (2:08.790) in the 250 Class. While both clocked the fastest lap of the day in their respective classes, neither left Thunder Valley with the win. In fact, you will not see Stewart’s times in the lap charts this week, because the #7 crashed out for the day after only completing two laps of moto one. Baggett went 3-1 for a solid second overall on the day.

With the rain having fallen intermittently in Lakewood and the conditions on the track in consistent flux, it is hard to compare lap times from one moto to the next this week. Overall, though, the fastest average times came from Dungey’s first moto win (2:09.702) before the rain fell and from Baggett’s second moto win (2:10.580) long after the rain had left, so keep that in mind when reading the graphs. The track was at its best during 450 moto one and 250 moto two.

On the left of each graph, you will notice the lap times and the numbers on the bottom signifying each lap. Below that, we have the top five riders in the order they finished and each lap time from the thirty minute plus two lap moto after their name. Also, note that each rider’s fastest lap is shaded in blue.
