Despite the lingering effects of his nasty crash just one week ago at the Thunder Valley National, James decided to try his luck on Saturday afternoon at the 2012 High Point National in Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania. Able to scrape together one quick lap during the day’s second timed practice session, JS7 rolled into moto number one as the fastest qualifier, but knew that he’d have his work cut out for him if he hoped to battle up front for an entire 30-minute plus two laps moto. After a mediocre start, James was able to battle his way to a respectable fifth-place finish, but the pain and lack of strength in his injured hand and wrist were just too much to overcome, so he and his team made the tough decision to sit out of moto number two to prevent further injury.

James’ return to racing is still somewhat up in the air, but he plans to be back just as soon as he’s physically able.
