Coming into the final stop of the 2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, Eli Tomac was only fourteen points behind the leader Blake Baggett with Justin Barcia ready to make his final laps on his 250cc bike sitting only eighteen points behind Baggett — all of this was building up for an exciting final day of 2012 MX at Lake Elsinore.

Once the gate dropped in the first moto Barcia came out firing but would eventually be overtaken by teammate Tomac after a bit of a battle. With everything coming down to the final moto of the season both Tomac and Baggett would tumble off their bikes, leaving it wide open for Barcia to take the moto. In the end, it was Barcia in second and Tomac in third for the season.

Wil Hahn rode out of Elsinore with his best finish of the season ending the day in fourth overall and sixth for the the season.

That concludes the 2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship for GEICO/Honda’s Young Guns. Leaving 2012 MX with the East and West lites titles plus second and third for lites nationals, these slingers are sure to return in 2013 to try again for the lites class sweep.
