Throughout his life Ricky James had one goal in mind: to become a professional motocross rider. Just after turning sixteen, he received a sponsorship from Honda to ride the 2005 amateur motocross nationals. March 8, 2005 would mark his first race for team Honda at Lake Whitney, Texas. He did everything in his power leading up to that race to be in top notch condition. During his first couple days of racing he proved that he had what was needed to win. Unfortunately on March 10,2005 he was involved in a bad crash which left him paralyzed.

Since that terrible day alot has changed in his life as it does for someone who suffers a spinal cord injury. One thing that did not change is his love for action, adventure, and motor sports. He continues being involved and is still able to ride and jump a motocross bike. Not only that but he also races trophy trucks, and has completed several triathlons.
