The Terex Australian Supercross Championship put a challenge out on Facebook page that if they got 10,000 fans, they would get Chad Reed to come home and race one round of the series. Well, yesterday they reached their 10,000 mark and announced that Reedy would be racing not one but all three of the remaining rounds of the series. Chad Reed is obviously a superstar in Australia and the announcement that he is heading home has garnered a ton of excitement for the series. An announcement of a TV package and a rush to get tickets quickly followed the announcement that Reed will be there.

This should be a great thing for Australian Supercross and for Reed as well. The TwoTwo Motorsports/Honda rider has been away from racing since he sustained multiple serious injuries at the 2012 Dallas SX back in April. Training and riding are good things when coming back from a long lay-off, but nothing does more to get you back up to speed than actual racing. The Australian Championship might be hard to get done after missing the first of a short, four-race series, but Chad should be able to get in some valuable gate drops before the big show starts at Anaheim 1.
