For round two of the 2013 Monster Energy Supercross, an FIM World Championship Series, the caravan of 18 wheelers packed with trick machinery headed to Phoenix, Arizona’s Chase Field for the Phoenix SX. Once again, the night was full of intense action, and the 250SX was again dominated by Eli Tomac. At round one, Davi Millsaps was a surprise winner in the 450SX class and many were wondering if he could do it again. While Davi was able to pull off another podium and hang on to the red plate, it was the rookie Justin Barcia that notched his first-ever 450SX win.

Although Barcia managed to score his first 450 win in only the second race of his rookie year, it was not Barcia with the fastest lap time in Phoenix. The fastest lap time of the night was turned in by Ryan Villopoto (50.880), a half a second faster than Barcia’s (51.459) fastest lap time. RV had the fastest lap times in the main, but it was Barcia’s holeshot and lap-for-lap consistency—that shows in the graphs below—that won him his first-ever 450 main event.

In the 250SX class, it was Tomac logging the fastest lap (51.845) for the second week in a row. Unlike at the opener, Tomac was not able to clock faster laps than the 450 boys with RV, Barcia and Canard all going a tick faster on the slick Phoenix soil. Ken Roczen also closed the gap quite a bit in round two. The #94 was over a second and a half off of Tomac in Anaheim and was able to get that margin down to about a half second in Phoenix.

Check out the lap charts below to see how both Main Events played out plus how the 250SX Class and 450SX Class stacked up against each other.

On the left of each graph, you will notice the lap times and the numbers on the bottom signifying each lap. Below that, we have the top five riders in the order they finished and each lap time from the main event after their name. Also, note that each rider’s fastest lap is shaded in blue.
