Today at the 2013 Anaheim 2 press conference, Yoshimura Suzuki’s James Stewart confirmed that he does in fact have a torn ACL that he sustained in the incident in qualifying practice at the Anaheim 1 opener. Racer X Online is reporting that James tells them this in a Racer X Films interview and that the interview will be posted later today. It sounds like James is going to tough it out with the torn ACL for the remainder of the 2013 SX season before getting it repaired.

This is good news and bad for Stewart fans. The bad news is obvious, but the good news is that now that he knows his ACL is toast, he also knows he cannot do too much more damage. It will all boil down to the #7’s pain threshold. I will say this, I partially tore my ACL racing, and I could barely walk, so it is obvious to me that the man’s pain threshold is a few steps above mine.
