Round three of the 2013 Monster Energy Supercross, an FIM World Championship Series, busted a U-turn in Arizona and b-lined back to Angel Stadium for the Anaheim 2 SX. At the second installment of the Anaheim SX, it was the men with the #1 plates scoring the wins and the fastest times in their respective classes. Both GEICO Powersports/Honda’s Eli Tomac and Monster Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto crossed the line first and had the fastest times while doing it. With the win in the 250SX class, Tomac stretched his winning streak to three straight in 2013 and his championship points lead to nine over Red Bull/KTM’s Ken Roczen. For Villopoto, it was his first win in 2013, and after a lackluster start to the season, he moved up to fourth in the points after his win.

For the first two rounds of the series, Villopoto had been stuck in the pack and unable to really show his speed. At round three, though, RV dropped the hammer and nobody was close. With a 52.892, there was no one within a half second of the champ, and unlike the first two rounds, Tomac was not even within a second of the top 450SX times. Round three was definitely an “about damn time” moment for everyone who has been wondering what’s up with the defending two-time champ in 2013. We suspect this is just a preview of what we will see out of Villopoto in 2013.

Check out the lap charts below to see how both main events played out plus how the 250SX Class and 450SX Class stacked up against each other.

On the left of each graph, you will notice the lap times and the numbers on the bottom signifying each lap. Below that, we have the top five riders in the order they finished and each lap time from the main event after their name. Also, note that each rider’s fastest lap is shaded in blue.
