The Minneapolis Supercross and round number fourteen of the 2013 Monster Energy Supercross, an FIM World Championship Series, is officially in the books, and it was all Red Bull/KTM on top of the podium. In the 450 class, Ryan Dungey ended the win streak of Monster/Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto, and in the 250 class, we saw Marvin Musquin win his fourth main event of the year. In the end, Villopoto left Minneapolis with a twenty-two point lead in the Championship over Dungey, while the lead of GEICO/Honda’s Wil Hahn shrank to just five points over Musquin with one round to race.
In the lap time battle, it was Ryan Dungey (49.652) edging out Ryan Villopoto (49.754) for the fastest time of the night. The two Ryans were the only two riders to break the 50-second barrier in the main events. In the 250SX main event—just like in the 450SX class—the winner, Musquin (50.362), had the fastest time of the main event. Overall, it was a sweep for KTM in wins and fastest laps in Minneapolis.
