The 2014 Daytona Supercross and round number ten of the 2014 Monster Energy Supercross series saw two riders making huge statements to the competition. In the 450SX class, it was Monster/Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto passing Discount Tire Racing’s Dean Wilson early and checking out for his third win of the year. The three-time defending 450SX grabbed his fourth Daytona SX win and, despite crashing late in the race, was still able cruise home with a twelve-second lead. The #1 was joined on the podium by the two Red Bull/KTM riders, Ken Roczen (2nd) and Ryan Dungey (3rd) and stretched his Championship lead to twenty-eight points over Dungey and twenty-nine over the German, Roczen.

In the 250SX class, it was the 2011 250SX Daytona SX winner, Blake Baggett, flying past his two Monster/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki teammates, Adam Cianciarulo and Martin Davalos and disappearing into the distance for the win. It was an awesome display of outdoor skills and fitness by the #4 and an awesome sign that he has put his injuries behind him. Joining him on the box for the second Mitch Payton sweep of the year were his teammates Cianciarulo (2nd) and Davalos (3rd). With his fourth-straight podium, Cianciarulo leads Davalos by seven points with Baggett fifteen back in third.

In the lap time battle, it was Villopoto (1:04.127) and Baggett (1:04.202) in their own little world. In the 450SX class, the closest time was Wilson (1:05.378) who was 1.2 seconds off the champ, and in the 250SX, only Cianciarulo (1:04.894) was within a second of Baggett. It was a definite statement race for the two Kawasaki riders and one they hope resonates in their opponents’ heads moving forward.

Each graph charts the lap times of the top five finishers in each main event. You can run your cursor over the lines to see which rider the line signifies and that rider’s time for each lap. Click on a rider’s name on the right to remove them from the chart so you can run riders’ times against each other heads up. Also, riders are colored to match their bike brand.

Note: We cut the 250SX graph and the 250SX vs 450SX graph three laps short, because the transponders malfunctioned on last three lap of the 250SX main event.
