It looks like it’s a bad day to be a Monster Energy Supercross points leader in Toronto. Monster Energy/Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto came down with a serious case of food poisoning today and missed free practice and both qualifying sessions due to being at the hospital to get treatment. As of now, Ryan can still race the night show due to a provisional that allows the top ten in points to get the 21st gate pick in the heat races, but he will be a game time decision. RV currently has a thirty-point lead over Red Bull/KTM’s Ryan Dungey, so whether RV races or not, he will still retain the red plate.

Also, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Adam Cianciarulo crashed in the first qualifying session and injured his shoulder in the crash. We’re being told his shoulder popped out, but he was able to ride the final qualifying session. The #46 qualified fourteenth and takes a seventeen-point lead over his teammate Martin Davalos—who qualified #1—into the night show. Click here to view Toronto SX qualifying times.

Update: Ryan Villopoto was able to tough it out to finish 6th and retain a 25 point lead over Ryan Dungey in the Championship, but Cianciarulo was not so lucky. The rookie’s shoulder gave out on him early in the 250SX main event, and he was only able to score one point. Cianciarulo is now 2nd in the points, four behind his teammate Martin Davalos.
