At the final round of the 2014 AMSOIL Arenacross in Salt Lake City, Utah, PBR/TiLube/TUF Racing Honda’s Jacob Hayes and Team Babbitt’s/Monster Energy/Kawasaki’s Zach Ames both had a shot at stopping the three-time Arenacross Champion Tyler Bowers from winning four-straight.

At the end of the day, though, Bowers was just too much and was able to lock down the Championship with two main event wins in Salt Lake City. Hayes went 3-6 on the night in Salt Lake for fifth overall and second place in the Championship, while Ames went 8-2 in Salt Lake for fourth overall and third place in the Arenacross Championship. Both put up a valiant fight all year long, and with Hayes just being a rookie, we expect to see a lot more of him in the future as he hopefully transitions over to Supercross in the coming years.

After the finale in Salt Lake was in the books, Dave Deringer caught up with both Hayes and Ames in the pits to talk about their race in Salt Lake City, their seasons as a whole and their future racing plans. You can listen to both interviews by clicking play below.
