At the 2014 East Rutherford Supercross, Yoshimura/Suzuki’s James Stewart jammed his foot down in a corner and immediately came up lame. James tried to continue the main event, but after completing a few sections, the #7 pulled out with a DNF. As James held his knee, you could hear the collective sigh from people inside MetLife Stadium, and most everyone’s first thought was there goes James’ first injury-free SX season since 2009 and his upcoming bid for the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross 450 Championship.

Today, though, we are now hearing from James that his knee is not as bad as originally thought, and the former two-time 450SX Champion is expected to compete at the finale on Saturday night in Las Vegas. This is great news for the Yoshimura/Suzuki squad and fans everywhere looking forward to seeing the Stewart-Villopoto battle continue outdoors on May 24th at Glen Helen. Heading into the Las Vegas SX finale, James sits third in 450SX Championship standings, eleven behind Ryan Dungey and six up on Ken Roczen.

See ya in Vegas!
