MotoXAddicts just received word that a rumor that’s been going around is in fact true: Tyler Bowers will fill in for Chad Reed at the Las Vegas Supercross on the Discount Tire Racing Kawasaki 450.  There is no confirmation from the team, but we expect to see Tyler on the Two-Two Motorsports machine at the finale. Tyler recently won his fourth-straight AMSOIL Arenacross Championship and has been waiting for a call to step up and race some Monster Energy Supercross before going on vacation. With Tyler winning the 250SX Eastern Regional main event in Las Vegas last year, it seems like a great choice by Chad Reed and the Discount Tire Racing team to get the team and the parked bike some much needed exposure.

How will Bowers do? That’s always a tough question with Tyler, but he showed last year that his arenacross skills definitely cross over well on the Las Vegas hard-pack. Bowers is a big kid, and he should fit the 450 well, but I’ve always been more impressed with his skills on the 250F. With that said, I think Bowers will definitely be near the top-ten and, with a start, could possibly be near the top-five. Either way, the kid always brings hype with him, and it will definitely make the finale a little more interesting.
