Earlier today, Monster/Kawaski’s Ryan Villopoto announced that he will be sitting out the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship to have knee surgery. With Villopoto recently ripping off four-straight wins to close out his fourth-straight 450SX Championship, it’s a little bit of a head scratcher for most fans, but rumors were out there that the #1 had been struggling with an injury for much of the year.

It’s unfortunate that the #1 will not be on the track to defend his 2013 450 Motocross Championship, but it may be a great thing for the fans. With Ryan on the sidelines and a huge list of contenders wanting his #1 plate, it should make for a highly competitive outdoor season.

With that, MotoXAddicts wants to know who you think will be the favorite to grab the vacated #1 plate at the end of the season. Check out the list below and give us your vote. See you all at Glen Helen on May, 24th!
